Scholarships
At UT, we believe that accessibility to an education at Tennessee’s flagship land-grant university should be available to all citizens of the state. We offer need-based scholarships to qualified members of the fall entering first-year class who are Tennessee residents and graduate from a Tennessee high school.
UT awards several types of scholarships for both in-state and out-of-state students, including:
The Hope Scholarship
Up to $1,750 per full-time enrollment semester as a first-year and sophomore; then up to $2,250 per full-time enrollment semester as a junior and senior

Volunteer Scholarship
Awarded to all students with a 3.8 minimum core weighted GPA. Award amounts vary by ACT score and in-state vs. out-of-state status. Visit One Stop for details.

The Tennessee Pledge Scholarship
Awarded to admitted first-years with a family income of up to $40,000. The scholarship is for four years and covers all direct costs—tuition, fees, and an average for on-campus room and board, as determined by UT—without the use of student loads.

The UT Promise Scholarship
This unique scholarships is awarded to first-time, first-year entering in-state students who have graduated from a Tennessee Promise high school. No scholarship application is required. Any new first-year student who is admitted and enrolls at UT from one of the eligible high schools will receive the Promise Scholarship. Read the eligibility requirements.
